Districts urged to improve population's live conditions


On 2nd April 2012, at Gisenyi cultural centre in Rubavu District held a Provincial coordination committee meeting chaired by The Minisiter of Local Government, Hon. James MUsoni together with the Governor of Western Province, Kabahizi Celestin.

The meeting discussed about Provincial and Districts priorities and budgets for 2012/2013 fiscal year as well as EICV 3 researche findings in poverty eradication.
Districts priorities have been focused on infrastructure development, farming as as well social development.
In his remarks, Minister James Musoni hailed the Western Province for the activities achieved during the performance contact for the fiscal year 2011/2012, and urged district's Mayors to speed up ongoing projects.

He stressed that all activities in districts must be done in order to improve population's live conditions
The meeting discussed also about the post nyakatsi eradication programs where the Governor indicated that there is some activities left for houses to be built and districts urged to do their best in order to finish off the program.
Minister call on districts to expand coffee and tea production and allow population benefit from their production by gaining much money.

Among other activities to be followed up in districts include: District council to speed up the adoption of One Stop center; access to clean water; fight against malnutrition and improve sanitation.
